A man who tried to 'hide' in Mexico will spend 18 years in prison for stabbing to death a doorman at the El Patron Nightclub in Pasco nearly 9 years ago.

37-year-old Adan Virgin-Ponce was accused of fatally stabbing Froilan Godines in an altercation at the club on West Lewis Street February 7, 2010. Ponce was apparently upset he was not being allowed to bring alcohol from the club outside as he was leaving.

A scuffle occurred and Godines was fatally stabbed. Now, Ponce will spend prison time, his sentence was handed down in Franklin County Superior Court this week. The 18 years was a settlement, he could have gotten up to 36.

He was located in Mexico and extradited to the U.S. in 2018 where he was jailed in Franklin County.
