A 36-year-old mother believed to be fleeing Child Protective Service in New Mexico was located and arrested by U.S. Marshalls in Kennewick with help from Benton County Sheriff's and Kennewick Police.

Katrina Bryant was apprehended Friday with her 4-year-old son Kingston Bryant at 729 Highland Drive in Kennewick. An Amber Alert had been issued August 31st for the woman.

Authorities say she was fleeing CYFD Authorities (New Mexico's version of CPS) over a custody issue. She was supposed to turn the child over but fled instead.

She was last thought to be in Hermiston, but then authorities put surveillance on her mother who apparently lives in the area.  The team saw her enter the Highland Drive address, and shortly after saw Bryant at the location.  She was arrested without incident, and the child will be returned to CPS.

Officials didn't say why she was being required to surrender her son.
