(Another!) Hit And Flee Driver Knocks Out Neighborhood Power
There's been a rash of least four other similar incidents in the last week around the Mid Columbia, here comes number 5.
Late Thursday evening, residents around 19th and South Washington were without power after the driver of this sedan decided to square up their nose with a large power pole.
Deputies were called to a location near that intersection, and found this car split nearly dead center. Officials are investigating to recreate as much of what happened as possible (tire marks etc) but little is known.
The driver was gone when Deputies arrived, it is believed they were the only one onboard. In cases such as this, officials also are concerned for the condition of the driver; especially when there's a lot of damage to vehicle.
Benton PUD crews were on the scene much of the night repairing the pole and other damage to the electrical grid. Most homes were fully restored by morning.
The search for the driver continues.
