From the Governor's office Thursday morning:

"Gov. Jay Inslee will address the media tomorrow via streaming video and telephone to give an update on the state's response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The governor will be joined for questions by:

  • Umair Shah, MD, MPH, secretary, Department of Health
  • Lacy Fehrenbach, deputy secretary for COVID response, Department of Health (Q&A only)
  • Michele Roberts, assistant secretary, Department of Health (Q&A only)
  • Nick Streuli, executive director of external affairs, Office of the Governor (Q&A only)"

The most compelling part of this will be to hear what's happening with the "one week pause" he mentioned in his last press conference a couple of weeks ago.  Inslee did not elaborate at all if any regions were looking at being dropped back to Phase 1.

You may recall when the Healthy Washington (repackaged failed Safe Start) began, officials said regions could be sent down if their metrics didn't meet Phase 2 qualifications.

Always adding to the mystery, and confusion, Inslee said a one week pause would happen, instead of announcing if any move ups.  But that also perhaps made sense, because even the Governor himself has admitted there is no Phase 3 yet.

We will monitor the conference and pass along any pertinent data that matters to citizens, businesses etc.  We are certain much of the conference will be occupied with vaccination updates, and obligatory salute to something the Biden Camp has done, and some useless information that will have people scratching their heads. We've seen enough of these to know how they work.
