A little well-placed bear spray helped thwart an attempted break-in at a Kennewick home, where the suspect was violating a no-contact order.

Just after 1am Wednesday, Kennewick police responded to a break-in call from 401 West 11th. Police were told 42-year-old Andrew Slocum had kicked in the front door, looking for Andrea Slocum. She was hiding inside the home.

After forcing his way inside, Andrew Slocum was shot in the face by bear spray from another person at the residence. He then fled the scene, but was late found in his car on Canal Drive, and arrested by Kennewick officers.

He's facing residential burglary and domestic violence order violation charges.  Probably looking for some treatment for that bear spray to the eyes as well!
