A beloved employee from the Ellensberg Brewing and Malting Company was hit and killed by a car on Saturday night.

James McCurdy was walking along University Way when he was struck and killed by a car driven by 19-year-old Ricardo Abarca. Abarca was cleared of any signs of impairment.

McCurdy was last seen exiting the Wild Goose Casino after being refused service for intoxication.

The accident happened around 11:30 PM and EMT's tried to revive him but he dead at the scene.

Washington State Patrol are investigating but no charges have been filed yet.
