BF Health Department Suggests Fair Cancelled, But It’s Going on as Planned
Earlier this week at a Benton Franklin Health District meeting, officials said the Benton Franklin Fair should be canceled, due to rising COVID cases. They also recommended other large events be scrubbed as well.
But it's going ahead as planned.
BFHD officials claim the state surpassed it's mark for the most people in hospitals with COVID, the previous mark was in December.
The Richland Sausage Fest has been tweaked into a drive-thru event Sept 17-18 where people can pick up the food and other items. Several other events including the Sunset at Southridge on August 20 have been postponed.
Masks will be required indoors at the fair, per Gov. Inslee's returning the mask mandate regardless of a person's vaccination status.
The fair begins with the Parade Saturday in Downtown Kennewick, and the Demo Derby, and runs through next Saturday.
