You may have heard of House Bill 5376 in Congress, part of the Biden Administration's Build Back Better Agenda.

"Expanding similar arrangements nationwide could potentially increase union revenue by billions of dollars, much of which, if history is any guide, will be spent by SEIU and AFSCME on furthering their wide-ranging political and electoral goals."

Democrats are attempting to fast-track it via budget reconciliation. The plan includes billions of dollars for improving Medicaid coverage for home-care services and persons with disabilities. That may sound fine on the surface, but a new report indicates a lot of that money could be 'skimmed' off to labor unions.

HOW WOULD BBBA AGENDA PROFIT LABOR UNIONS WITH MILLIONS?

The money is called HCBS or home and community-based services.

The Freedom Foundation on Thursday released a new report indicating these potentially billions in Federal dollars come with "conditions" designed to steer a lot of this money to various labor unions who represented home-healthcare workers. These include SEIU (Service Employees International Union)  and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)

According to the Freedom Foundation:

"As a condition of receiving the additional funding, states must implement changes to their HCBS programs designed to encourage the unionization of home care aides and are incentivized to use a historically disfavored model that would allow unions to force caregivers to pay dues as a condition of employment in states lacking right-to-work protections."

Both SEIU and AFSCME are strong active unions in WA state. This money would not necessarily result in any improvements financially for these home care workers, but would increase the horsepower of the unions, according to the Freedom Foundation report:

"Expanding similar arrangements nationwide could potentially increase union revenue by billions of dollars, much of which, if history is any guide, will be spent by SEIU and AFSCME on furthering their wide-ranging political and electoral goals."
