Texas-based company pulls all it's products after positive test for the deadly food-born bacteria.

Listeria is a bacteria that's found in water, soil and some animals, including poultry and cattle.  Unlike many bacteria, Listeria is deadly because it can still grow in refrigerated, chilly conditions.  It is killed by cooking or pasteurization.

Blue Bell has pulled all of it's products after two samples of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tested positive for the bacteria.  Other products potentially affected included all their other ice cream products, frozen yogurt, sherbert, and frozen snacks.

The recall affects 23 states, including Washington.  Blue Bell products are sold in many Northwest stores. Last month, ice cream from Blue Bell was linked to three deaths at a hospital in Kansas.
