Body Found in Walla Walla River That of Man Missing Since Dec.

The Walla Walla County Sheriff's office has released new information about the discovery of a body in the Walla Walla River near Madame Dorion Park not far from Burbank.

Wednesday morning, shortly after 8AM, Deputies and Columbia Basin Dive Rescue were dispatched to the an area near the park about a body seen floating in the water.

Deputies now say the man has been identified as 19-year-old Arcane J. Wilkinson, who was reported missing out of College Place on December 19th, 2019.

You may recall we reported on this weeks ago, he's the one whose phone was pinged and initially came back with a target area in Umatilla County, just over the Oregon border. Then, the phone went 'silent'.  Family and friends said it was unlike him to just disappear and leave behind personal belongings.

Authorities have not said if a criminal investigation is pending. Officials now will use an autopsy to try to determine cause of death, and how long he had been in the river.
