Brand New Teen Driver Flies Down Road, Wads Up Car in Ditch
Tuesday night Benton County Sheriff's Deputies say an unnamed 18-year-old youth is lucky he was relatively unhurt after unsafe driving destroyed his car.
Deputies responded to the accident on Demoss Road. The teen was speeding well too fast for conditions. He drifted off onto the shoulder, luckily didn't roll the car. But as his car moved back onto the pavement, he lost control.
The car skidded along the road then down a steep embankment, then rocketed back across the road through oncoming traffic and slammed into the embankment on the opposite side. The car was destroyed, but luckily only bumps and bruises for the teen. He will be facing a variety of reckless driving charges. Deputies say the teen had the license only a few months.
