Roster Controversy, Player Parent Arrests Mar 2025 Little League Softball World Series
While many have heard of the Little League Baseball World Series, there's been one for softball since 1974. But this year, some controversy has marred the event.
Southwest Regional Team accused of roster violations and more
According SI online, (Sports Illustrated online-Softball on SI) two player parents were arrested following a fight in the parking lot after a game between the Southeast Region champ, and the Southwest Regional representative. The Little League Softball world series wrapped up August 10th in Greenville South Carolina after a one-week run.

Of the five divisions of Little League Softball, the age 9-12 Little League Majors are the ones who have the World Series, just like Little League Baseball in Williamsport, PA.
According to brobible.com and SI Online, the fight is believed to have started following comments made to the Southwest Team about allegations their roster was illegally assembled, leading to verbal and then a physical tussle.

The Oklahoma Team who won the Southwest Regional and finished 3rd in the World Series is from Tulsa, and accusations have come from multiple sources that Tulsa violated several rules. Little League requirements demand all players play in at least 8 LL regular season games. But a coach from a Texas team said he checked records and found multiple Tulsa players who didn't play in any games, a rules violation.
Another former Coach said Tulsa, last and this season, illegally recruited players from club or travel teams, which is also against the rules.
SI online said an anonymous parent provided text message evidence proving other Southwest Regional competitors believed Tulsa assembled their team just weeks before the tournament, and they showed the team did not play any league games as required.
Tulsa is also accused of manipulating tryouts for potential players. Numerous Tulsa area parents said their daughters who were eligible to tryout were turned away without ever seeing the field.
Numerous Southwest Region teams, parents and officials claim Little League International (LLI) turned a blind eye to the evidence of the illegal Tulsa roster, and now are trying to cover it up to avoid the embarrassment of an alleged 'illegal' team finishing 3rd in the World Series.
According to reports, LLI is still investigating the issue. The championship was won by West Suburban of Johnstown, PA. Oregon's team from Hermiston made it to the regionals before losing to Washington 10-9 in the NW Regional Championship Game--one game short of making the LLWS.
