Cops Take Charge Out of Would-Be Car Battery Thief

Richland police say a Kennewick man is in custody after he was apprehended Thursday night.

Around 8PM officers were called to the 3000 block of Bruce Lee Lane about a suspicious man lurking around vehicles. Upon arrival they found a 24-year-old suspect who was attempting to steal the batteries from multiple vehicles.

No word on how many he was able to successfully heist, but his efforts were spoiled by the police. The suspect's name was not released.  Police didn't say if they learned why he was trying to steal the batteries.
