Costco Is Shuttering All of Their Photo Departments Locations
If you are a Costco member, you are going to start seeing this email in your inbox over the next few days. Costco has announced that they are shuttering all of their photo departments.
An email is circulating to all Costco members discussing the closure of the photo departments.
The services that are getting shuttered or discontinued as of February 14th are ink refill, passport photos, photo restoration, and YesVideo Home Movie transfer service.
In the same email, Costco says they are continuing several services on the Costco Photo Center website.
Services like prints, enlargements, posters, stationary and photo greeting cards, canvas, metal and acrylic paint, photo books and calendars, photo blankets, and other photo gifts and business printing products will still be available.
You can access those services on the Costco Photo Center website but after today, the physical photo center will be shutting down.
The retailer is urging customers with any remaining orders to pick them up at their local photo center by March 28.
Sad to see these services going away, Costco has cited the need for prints and the printing of prints has fallen off especially during COVID-19.
Officials say a number of photo/print services will still be available online, but the in store traffic doesn't warrant it anymore.
