Cougar Sighted Between Benton City, Prosser by I-82

Monday morning, a Benton County Sheriff's employee was driving Eastbound on I-82 when they saw what clearly appeared to be a Cougar running south across the Interstate. It kept going, crossing Jacobs road which borders the Interstate.

The animal was sighted around 6;40am, near Milepost 98, which is between Benton City and Prosser, but closer to Tri-Cities.

Sheriff's officials say this is the latest in several cougar sightings near South Richland and Badger Mountain in the last few months. Anyone who sees one is urged to call 360-902-2929 and provide as much information as you can. And of course, if you see one fairly close, do not engage or do anything to attract it's attention.
