County Sheriff Gets New Bigger, Badder Patrol Boat
Most likely next spring and summer you will see this on the water, perhaps even this winter if need be.
The Benton County Sheriff's Department has added a new 27-foot patrol boat to it's arsenal, a significant upgrade over it's older units. While they will still be utilized, this Safecraft Patrol Boat has the advantage of being able to get right up to the shoreline, unlike the v-prow older units, due to it's flatter bottom construction.
It also has a fully enclosed cabin, much better for bad weather, more horsepower and being larger, can carry more officers and equipment.
Deputies Hansen and Benitez were charged with overseeing the pickup and delivery of the boat from The Safeboat Company of Bremerton, back to Benton County.
It will be put into service immediately, with it's related Deputy crew training on it.
