Police in China are preparing for Chinese New Years with their new toys: facial-recognition sunglasses. With these advanced pieces of surveillance technology, authorities can find fugitives in crowds and in corners where cameras do not look. Although there are concerns over the abuse of this device to profile minorities and political dissidents, 7 wanted major criminals and 26 people with other people's identities have been caught with the notably effective gear. Although China is the only country to use these glasses, LLVision Technology Co. (the company responsible for creating them) are looking to expand their product to other law enforcement agencies, including the U.S.
