As we sprung forward this morning, Washington State is one step closer to abolishing Daylight Saving Time for good as bill gets enough votes to clear the House and now is being sent to the Senate for debate.

It wasn't even a close vote as the bill passed easily with a 89-7 to abolish Daylight Saving Time.

The bill has failed in the past but now looks like it could finally pass as the bill was modified to extend the afternoon instead of the morning hour.

The bill is called HB 1196 and now heads to the Senate for debate. Sen. Patty Murray has expressed interest in supporting the bill as it finally gets to the floor of the Senate.

If the bill passes both the House and the Senate, it will still be the Federal Government who will get final say.
