The driver's ok, so are the deer, but the truck?  Not so much.

Early Tuesday morning, a Peterbilt semi loaded with potatoes was Eastbound on I-84 near Arlington, which is about 25-30 miles West of Hermiston.

Shortly after 5am, the driver - who's identity was not released - swerved to avoid several deer in the road, and lost control.  The truck slammed into the guardrail, then overturned, spilling it's load.

As a precaution the driver was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, the accident partially blocked one of the Eastbound lanes.  The accident took out 230 feet of guardrail.

Authorities didn't find any injured or dead deer at the scene, so the driver was successful in missing them.  Oregon State Patrol troopers urge motorists to watch for animals - especially deer - when traveling in the late night and early morning hours.   Deer are especially prone to cross the Interstate and other roads and due to darkness, seem to come out of nowhere.
