If you live in the Southridge area, you might've heard what sounded like gunshots late last night and you would've been correct.

Some teenagers were messing around and shooting off a firearm in the area of Bob Olson Highway and S. Montana Street and ended up getting cited for unlawful discharge of a firearm.

According to reports from the Kennewick Police Department, here is what transpired:

On 02/11/20 at approximately 12:30 AM, Officers with the help of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bob Olson Hwy and S Montana St, after hearing what sounded like a possible firearm being discharged multiple times. The vehicle was seen leaving the area. Three occupants were detained. A handgun could be observed inside the vehicle. After interviewing the occupants, Miguel Garcia (19), was cited for unlawful discharge of a firearm. It does not appear the firearm was discharged at anyone and no damage could be located on any property.
