Driver Flees After Stolen Truck Rollover Crash Near Fairgrounds

This rollover crash was rather unusual in that it involved a stolen truck and trailer, but was taken from different parts of the Tri-Cities.

Benton County Deputies called to a location just south of the fairgrounds.

Shortly before 9:45 AM Tuesday, June 28, Deputies were alerted to a truck on its side on South Oak Street, near Fairway in Kennewick.

The location is just about near the south gate of the Benton County Fairgrounds. Deputies arrived to find the driver had already fled the scene. It is not known if any passengers were on board.

The truck was on its side across the filled irrigation canal bed.

A check of the plate numbers revealed the truck had been reported stolen out of Pasco, while the trailer was recently reported stolen out of Benton County.

Deputies are tracking the plate numbers and other information in an attempt to locate the suspect driver. The investigation continues.
