Oregon State Patrol troopers continue to investigate why a 60-year-old man abruptly veered across the lane of travel, and into the path of an oncoming semi Monday morning.

Around 11AM OSP officials, Umatilla County Deputies and EMS responded to a two vehicle crash on Highway 37, about 20-22 miles east of Hermiston.

Lester Estes of Wallowa, OR was headed north when his Dodge 2500 pickup veered into the path of the Kenworth semi, driven by 48-year-old Harold Buell of Moses Lake.

Troopers say Estes sustained "fatal injuries" and pronounced deceased at the scene. No word if any injuries to Buell.
