A 21-year-old man who destroyed two parked cars after hitting them during a DUI accident later turned himself in with help from relatives.

Kennewick Police say the man, whose name was not released, was driving intoxicated very early Monday morning (12-21) when his car hit two parked cars, causing severe damage. He was not hurt, and fled the scene.

However he later returned along with relatives, who helped him turn himself in. Police say he told them it was the scariest thing he'd ever experienced in his life and he felt lucky to be alive.

Although he will face big fines, license issues and more from the property destruction, it appears he has learned a huge life lesson, and kudos to his relatives for helping him do the right thing.
