Oregon State officials including the Department of Transportation, have issued a hazardous driving alert for snow over the weekend.

According to the WSDOT and State Patrol:

"Over the next few days be prepared for snow, ice and winter weather creating challenging driving conditions. The National Weather Service has issues a winter storm warning for the Columbia Gorge and many parts of central and eastern Oregon, with snow continuing over the holiday weekend in some areas."

Drivers are urged to be ready to go slow and be ready to use their snow chains. Drive according to weather conditions, and NOT posted speed limits. Also, they say don't use cruise control in bad road areas, because the time you need to react to the brake or gas pedal could be the difference between maintaining control and wrecking.
