Felon Leads Cops on Wild Car, Foot Chase, Finally Tackled NFL Style
It was a busy evening Thursday for Pasco Police, Washington State Patrol and even Port of Pasco security.
Around 10:30pm a WSP Trooper spotted a car speeding at twice the limit over the Cable Bridge into Pasco, with one headlight out as well.
The trooper turned around and gave chase, but as the car approached 10th and B streets, it slammed into a retaining wall and the driver bailed before the trooper could pull up on scene.
The office then called Pasco Police and Port of Pasco Security, as the suspect had fled east and towards the river. Within 30 minutes, a Port of Pasco officer reported he had a man matching the suspect in his sights, and the guy was trying to break into vacant building.
Police and troopers swarmed the area, but had to use NFL style gang tackling to bring Michael Sean Speelman, 54, to the ground. The suspect, who's from Olympia, had numerous outstanding warrants for Burglary, Felony Eluding and numerous other crimes. He could also be facing other charges as he reportedly attempted a car prowl before he was spotted by the Port officer and arrested.
