Fire Consumes Car Shockingly Fast, Starts Brush Fire As Well

Benton County Fire District 1 crews were hopping Sunday afternoon when they got this fire call.

They found this vehicle fully consumed in flames on Locust Grove Road, not far from where it intersects with I-82 on the way to Hermiston. Fortunately, fire crews say nobody was hurt, but the blaze did trigger a small nearby brush fire which was quickly put out.

Authorities say they don't know, nor did the occupants of the vehicle, what started the fire, but by the time they got out, it only took minutes for the entire vehicle to go become charred and ready for the wrecking yard.
