FREE Books at Kennewick’s Numerica Pavilion Tomorrow (WEDNESDAY)
2021 is getting better for kids that is, especially tomorrow. (01/20) FREE BOOKS will be available from 9 am till 4 pm, at the Numerica Pavilion at the Southridge Sporting Complex.
The Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia is encouraging families to spend time together with 20 minutes of reading daily.
1,400 book bags will be distributed at the Resolution Read event tomorrow, courtesy of Numerica Credit Union.
Resolution Read is part of a national campaign urging parents and caregivers of children to spend time reading together every day. Reading daily assists children with literacy skills and encourages confidence to work through difficult challenges. Reading also helps develop social and emotional skills. Take the reading pledge here.
The mission of the Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid Columbia is to:
Encourage and educate families about their
important role in raising a reader
and preparing their child for kindergarten.
Support schools in ensuring students read
on grade level by the end of third grade.
Facilitate community involvement
in helping young readers be successful.
When reading with your child, you build a special bond and help with their vocabulary. And it's a great family activity.
I reside in Richland, and am disappointed that the public library isn't open. Half the fun, for me, is browsing what's new and available.
I remember as a child reading all the Dr. Seuss books with my dad. To this day, one of my favorite things to do is read "The Lorax" to my friend's current class. However, due to Covid, that's not happening.
1,400 book bags will be distributed tomorrow, from 9 am till 4 pm, at the Numerica Pavilion at the Southridge Sporting Complex. Enjoy!
