Funny Money Suspect Sought by Police After Purchases in Kennewick
Kennewick Police are seeking to ID this woman, who is accused of allegedly making a number of purchases at a grocery store using counterfeit bills.
Police didn't name the store, or the amount of the purchase, but was definitely fake money.
The most commonly counterfeited bill denomination is the $20, that's why 20's and up are usually examined by clerks in stores but not always all of them.
Counterfeiting, by the way, is a Federal crime, so carries more serious consequences. And, Police and LE devote a lot of energy to these issues, because usually where there's one or two fake bills, more will follow.
