Kennewick police have arrested a man suspected of passing counterfeit $20 bills at various businesses around town, now they're trying to figure out where the money originally came from.

19-year-old Eric Presson is considered a transient, originally from Kansas. Since last Friday, a number of area businesses had reported receiving the fake money, and a description was circulated of the person suspected of passing them.

Monday, thanks to the sharp eyes of some Kennewick Home Depot employees, police were called about a man matching that description. The bills were in a suitcase, and carried  2009 series money serial number JB 01803760A.

Anyone who's received any such suspected money is asked to contact the Kennewick police department about the funds.

Authorities are working with officials in Kansas to see if any other fake money was passed during Presson's travels from that state to Washington.
