An important opportunity for citizens to voice opinions on bills/policies being considered in the current legislative session as well as other issues is coming Saturday.

Washington State 8th Legislative District Senator Sharon Brown, and House Reps Matt Boehnke and Brad Klippert will hold a citizens Open House this coming Saturday February 22, at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive, Richland.

All the state elected officials from the 8th District are Republicans.

They will provide an update on what's happening in Olympia, which bills have passed, which ones are being considered, and take input and opinions from citizens. There's been a lot of interesting legislation, from proposals to expand sex ed in schools down to K- through 5th grade; to an effort to stop listing sodas and sweetened drinks from restaurant children's menus (although they would still be available, they would not be listed--as if they don't exist).
