Gov. Inslee To Take Short Leave for Hip Replacement
Apparently the surgery is one day, and for that day Inslee will 'not' be governor of Washington state.
Jay Inslee announced this week he is going under the knife this coming Monday morning, December 12, and while he is getting a new hip, Secretary of State Kim Wyman will serve as acting governor.
He is expected to be out of the office for at least one week, his staff is preparing his supplemental budget and policy proposals that will be looked at during the next legislative session which starts in January.
Some critics have commented they'd like to see other parts of his anatomy (especially between the ears) replaced as well. Regardless of who it is, we do wish a good surgery and successful outcome. Politics always takes a back seat to health.
