News just in from Washington D.C. ..the House of Representatives voted to

defund National Public Radio...or as House Resolution 1076 read, "to prohibit Federal funding of National Public Radio and the use of Federal Funds to acquire radio content.   Now, this is only one step.  This bill would have to also clear the Senate, where it certainly faces a much stiffer challenge.   The Republican controlled house was easily able to sail the measure through.  But many politicial experts say it poses, for the first time since the inception of the CPB (corporation for public broadcasting) in the late 1960's, a serious challenge to Federal funding of public broadcasting.
