Because of an online advertising scam, many peoples computers could lose their internet come July.

Some time ago, hackers ran a sophisticated advertising scheme on-line to allow them to infect literally hundreds of thousands of computers not only in the US, but across the world.  The FBI set up a safety net a few months ago to ensure those users would not be distrupted, but in July, that service will go away.

The FBI has set up a security website utilizing partners who oversees sensitive government computer systems.  Users can go to www.dcwg.org and follow the directions to see if they were one of the computers affected.   If you never click on  ads, popups, and are very careful with your internet, chances are you are not infected.   Federal and other authorities have made a number of arrests connected with the virus, under an sweep called Operation Ghost Click.
