I am a Murderer! Woman Tells Deputies After Shooting
“I am a murderer, what did I do?” Those are the words a woman asked Deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office on Friday September 17 after she reportedly shot 49-year-old boyfriend.
DEPUTIES SAY THE WOMAN ADMITTED TO THE SHOOTING
Deputies say they were called to a home in the 500 block of Irene Lane near Selah after getting a report of a shooting between a man and a woman. The woman, who hasn't been identified says she was attacked when she fired a shot that killed 49-year-old Todd Kopinski from Selah. She admitted to the shooting after asking deputies if she was guilty of murder.

Deputies arrived and observed a deceased male laying on the floor with an apparent gunshot wound to his chest. The woman said she was fighting with the man and he attacked her. She admitted to shooting him.She was arrested and brought to the office for questioning. She did not elaborate about the male attacking her and then asked for an attorney. Deputies observed an odor of intoxicating liquor on her breath suggesting she was intoxicated. Detectives and evidence techs were called out to process the crime scene.
The deceased male was identified as 49-year-old Todd William Kopinski from Selah. The woman was booked into the county jail for charges of Murder in the 2nd degree – DV and Manslaughter in the 1st degree – DV.
