A Yakima woman who triggered a 3-car collision Wednesday was impaired, police now say.

Pasco police say 32-year-old Rachel M. Nelson was eastbound on A Street near Maitland when her Xterra SUV crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head on. That impact pushed the victim into a 3rd vehicle, setting off the large crash.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 68-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries, the driver of the 3rd vehicle was not hurt.

Police said Friday Nelson was not only arrested for DUI/Drugs, but also driving on a suspended license. She is now in the Franklin County Jail.

The crash location was East of and not that far from our Newstalk870 studios on A Street.
