The original charge was Failure to Register as a Sex Offender with two or more priors. In Washington State, offenders are legally obligated to register with their local county sheriff where they reside, work, or attend school.
Consequences for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
Failure to Register as a Sex Offender with multiple prior convictions is a serious felony. A first offense is a Class C felony. Having two or more prior convictions elevates the charge to a Class B or aggravated felony. The punishment is severe. A Class B felony in WA State carries a maximum statutory penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $20,000 and mandatory DNA testing.
