Next February, the Kennewick School District will ask voters to approve a bond that will build some new schools, and renovate two others.

The measure will result in two brand-new elementary schools being constructed, renovation of the old Westgate school on 4th at it's present location, and building a brand new Middle School.

The measure will also allow replacing Desert Hills Middle School, but the new structure will be at a different location than it's existing building on 10th in Kennewick.

The District is seeking public input by way of a survey  that will help the district decide where to locate the new and replacement middle schools.  Most of Kennewick's renovations have occurred on-site, such as the refurbishment of Vista a few years ago, and the current Eastgate Elementary project (the new school is being built just behind the old structure next to the Benton County Fairgrounds).

The district has two potential locations to put the new schools, including 27th and Southridge, or Clodfelter Road near Five Corners.  The survey asks where the replacement for Desert Hills should be, and where the new school should be.   It also asks for suggested names for the new school

Additional input is being asked for from citizens.  You can take the survey through Oct. 22nd.
