Largely because the county has well over 3,200 square miles to patrol, a lot of it off-road, Umatilla County has replaced a number of aging patrol units with these bad boys.

This week, 4 new 2020 Dodge Durgangos and 3  2020 Ford F-250 trucks went  into service. Besides the engine on steroids under the hoods of all of them, the trucks also come equipped with heavy duty winches.

The Department says due to the expansive size of the county, and frequently answering calls in areas with poor or even no roads (as well as bad weather) they chose these models to replace aging cars.

And of course, they're equipped with all the computers, tech, and the special 'plastic' uncomfortable back seat for suspects to ride in.
