A Thursday night shooting could have been very tragic had the suspect not missed badly.

Walla Walla police responded to a shooting call around 7pm in the 1100 block of West Chestnut Street. Upon arrival they located and arrested 39-year-old Noel A. Perdoma for allegedly shooting at an acquaintance.

Police say he fired his handgun "in the face" of a 54-year-old man, but missed. Fortunately the victim was not struck or hurt, but the bullet was later found having struck a home near the intersection of Chestnut and 5th.

Perdoma is now in the Walla Walla County jail on charges of Reckless Endangerment, 1st. Degree Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. No one else was hurt in the altercation.
