Man Plummets 100 Feet to Death Trying to Jump Richland Interstate Barrier
You may recall a couple of winters ago when a man died near Grandview, trying to jump across the divider that separates the Interstate where there's an overpass, the Jersey barrier. He fell to his death. Now it's happened to a Pasco man.
The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the death of 52-year-old Brian L. Readel, who's truck might have become disabled near the Queensgate offramp by Richland around 2am Sunday morning.
Readel was picked up by another driver who stopped to help him, but then returned to the eastbound lanes where his truck was located.
Then for some reason, he tried to jump over the Jersey barrier to get back to the westbound lanes, but fell some 100 feet down a steep embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
