It's an answer we might not have for a while. This image shows general area where incident occurred.
Man run over in Kennewick Parking lot was lying on the ground
Around 2:30 PM Thursday afternoon, Kennewick Police responded to the parking lot near the new location of Ulta Beauty on Columbia Center Boulevard and found a man had been run over by a car.
According to Police, the 49-year-old man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, he is listed as having critical injuries. However, he was conscious when passers-by and then EMS workers began to administer first aid.
Police say the driver of the car was turning around in the lot, and felt a bump underneath their car, not unlike a speed bump. They said they did not see the man as he was lying on the ground.
The driver is cooperating fully with the investigation, and it does not appear charges will be filed.
Why was man lying on the ground?
That question will either have to wait until the man recovers enough to answer questions, hopefully he will, or perhaps the investigation will reveal what he was doing.
