Man Suffering from Mental-Drugs Issues Arrested After Assault
Late Tuesday afternoon, Pasco Police responded to an assault call near the Pasco Ben Franklin Transit transfer station on North 22nd Ave.
Upon arrival officers located the suspect, whom they immediately believed to be suffering from mental health issues, made worse by the influence of street drugs.
The victim told Police the suspect threw a large rock at him and it weighed probably "twenty pounds." Officers said the suspect missed his target, but he was violently uncooperative. After an arrest hold on probable 2nd Degree Assault, the man, said to be 28, tried to kick his way out of the back seat of the patrol car.
Because of the suspected mental health issues, the man's identity was not released.
