Man Tries to Attack Deputies With Screwdriver
Franklin County Deputies had their hands full with a suspect early Tuesday morning, after he allegedly confronted them, charged at them, and tried to attack them with a screwdriver.
Deputies arrived near the intersection of Lanford Road and Newport Drive, and found 39-year-old Eli Quiroz, who reportedly began acting violently. He charged at the Deputy, with a screwdriver in his hand. He did not actually hurt the officer, but when backup arrived they used a Taser on him.
However, it was ineffective in dropping Quiroz, probably due to the baggy clothes he was wearing, said officials.
He's now facing multiple counts of assault and resisting arrest, Franklin County Deputies say he's known to the office, several arrests in the past.
No word if it was a Phillips or Standard.
