Most of you know a Zamboni is the ice resurfacing machine used at hockey rinks around the world.  But you may have never seen on in action.

The machine combines water, spray, and a long blade to not only remove ruts and excess shavings from the surface, but it also leaves behind a smooth, shiny slab of ice.

Not only used in hockey, but also figure skating as well.   It's not easy driving one, it requires taking (and passing!) a special day-long class.  Sometimes they are offered at the Toyota Center.

Now there's a skill to put on your resume!  It looks fun!   Here's a video of the Zamboni parade during a recent Tri-City Americans game.  The Americans (like many rinks) use two machines to make the resurfacing go much quicker.    You can find other great videos on our Newstalk 870 YouTube page!  Check it out.
