New Bills Calls For A 2 Cent Tax On Single Use Plastic Bags

A new bill being introduced in Olympia is looking for a new 2 cent tax on single use plastic bags.

It means that for every single plastic bag use, you'll be charged 2 cents per bag.

The goal is to limit the use of plastic bags throughout the state and currently 19 cities through Washington have some form of a plastic bags ban.

Lawmakers tried to pass a bill last year but it failed. The new bill is slated for a 2019 legislative session.
