Noted Tri-City Funeral Director to Run for Franklin County Coroner

The official letter of announcement was released Thursday, one of the long-time Tri-City funeral directors will be running. Curtis McGary, who is part of the team at Mueller's Funeral Home, issued his statement.

Current Coroner Dan Blasdel was in the spotlight a couple of years ago during the much discussed Zambrano shooting. Blasdel insisted on having a Coroner's Inquest to look at how the incident was handled. Supporters felt it would help reinforce the efforts of the Special Investigations Unit in the case, but opponents felt it undermined law enforcement and was a waste of taxpayer money.
