Authorities investigating the March 4th fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man in Hermiston say progress is slower than what they like.

A case that's gone to the back burner publicity-wise in the continuing coverage of the Zambrano-Montes shooting in Pasco,  the Hermiston homicide claimed the life of Alonso Madrigal. He was fatally shot in the parking lot of the 11th. Street Market in the early morning hours of Wednesday,  March 4.

Police had responded to reports of shots fired in the area. After responding,  they heard another round of gunfire and then found Madrigal lying in the parking lot.

Officials say numerous leads and interviews have been conducted and looked at, but the case is still moving too slowly for their liking.  Police say persons of interest have come about during the investigation, but no details about them have been released due to circumstances that might jeopardize the situation.
