Old Motorhome Brakes Fail Uninsured Driver, Slams Through Columbia Park Fence
Kennewick police had to respond to an unusual accident Monday night, a motorhome that went through a fence near the Edison entrance to Columbia Park.
Police arrived to find this older motorhome had crashed through a fence after going off the road. They learned from the driver that the unit stalled, the brakes failed, and apparently then the ride was on!
Police cited the driver-owner for defective equipment (the brakes) and driving without valid insurance. Some comments on social media blame the mechanical failure on a local towing company, allegedly wiring and other electrical damaged when it was previously towed, which led to brakes failing.
