Oregon Drug Smugglers Hide Heroin in Valentine Teddy Baskets!
The Oregon State Patrol nabbed two women who could be called the Valentine Smugglers!
During a routine traffic stop Jan. 30, state troopers found a little more than Valentine romance inside some holiday bouquets and arrangements. 22-year-old Sonla Marquez-Lozano and 20-year-old Yedid Zamudio-Vazquez of Arizona were westbound on I-84 in Malheur County, in southeastern Oregon.
They were stopped for an illegal lane change and during the traffic stop officers found sufficient cause to search their car. In the trunk, troopers found five pounds of heroin concealed inside two Valentine teddy bear baskets! The street value of the drugs was over $200,000!
Both women were booked into the Malhuer County jail for a variety of drug charges. Marquez-Lozano and Zamudio-Vazquez are pictured below.
