WHAT DID OFFICERS FIND BEHIND THE WHEEL?

The left turn signal was blinking, and when Officers approached the driver started the engine put the vehicle in gear and appeared to be trying to drive away.

When he rolled down the window, Police said the smell of intoxicants was easily noticeable. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Eric Leal of Ephrata, admitted he'd had "enough" to drink, and he probably shouldn't be driving.

 WHAT ELSE DID HE DO?

During the interview, Leal tried to conceal an opened bottle of Monarch Vodka by tossing it into the back seat in plain view, then Police said he tried to pass that off with an apology.

After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken to the Grant County Jail, facing a variety of DUI related charges.  Several other opened alcohol bottles were found in his vehicle which was impounded.

Yet another example of why one should not drink and drive. Fortunately no accidents resulted from this incident.
